Help I'm a swim teacher!
Just about every swim school has an outline of what they want a swimming teacher to achieve at each level of a swim students progress. Some specify exactly what skills the and drills the teacher is required to teach each week. And then there are the schools that will say to you: "Here is what we want the student to achieve before they progress... go for it".
An experienced teacher wont blink an eye at this but a new teacher is just as likely to say: " You want what?"
Even experienced teachers however will look for new ideas to both improve their charges performance and to keep the class fresh.

But I don't like being prescriptive because every swim school is different and no matter how good a lesson plan is it will have to be modified for each situation.
The following is a list of lesson plans:

Unfortunately if you want to read the rest of the post you will have to either wait till you have finished reading before you click on the link or use your browse back arrow to move back to the post as it is in a Google Document and I haven't figured out how to make it open in a new browse window yet.
